About Me

My career as a therapist began as a music psychotherapist, treating adults and children with serious medical illnesses and their families at several New York City hospitals and area hospices, overseeing music therapy programs and supervising music therapists.  This very meaningful work grounded me in the human quest to find meaning even in appalling circumstances, and the importance of relationships in finding the way through.  These lessons have been invaluable to take with me into the consulting room, both in NYC and in Denver, where I’ve been practicing since 2018.

I am currently a candidate in psychoanalysis at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies in New York. I’m drawn to psychoanalysis because of the space it makes for all aspects of the human experience and its particular attention to the importance of the therapeutic relationship in healing.

My doctorate is in Depth Psychology, with emphasis in psychotherapy, from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, CA, where much of my training focused on Jungian psychology.  I received my masters training at the Hahnemann Creative Arts in Therapy Program at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, and post-graduate training at the Music Psychotherapy Center in New York.  I am also a board certified music therapist.

I have presented both nationally and internationally, published in clinical journals, and taught graduate and undergraduate students in psychology, counseling, and music therapy.
